Georgetown University's Advanced Research Computing

GUGrid - ARC Georgetown University Grid Initiative

Georgetown University's Advanced Research Computing (ARC) team provides computation resources to researchers via the GUGrid initiative.

ARC Mission

Georgetown University's Advanced Research Computing (ARC) team provides an environment in which the latest computational and information technologies are employed to support the goals of the Main Campus and Medical Center. ARC's philosophy of service to research is guided by Georgetown University's founding principles.

Working with investigators in all computationally demanding fields, we help determine what specialized or customized computational resources and infrastructure are required to support the needs of the University. This is done by leading in the implementation and application of emerging technologies, and designing new technologies in collaboration with principle investigators.

ARC maintains the facilities where research applications and computational resources are hosted. In doing so, ARC complies with existing industry standards, and maintains policies, and procedures as they relate to the integrated operation of research applications and services.

Collaboration with internal and external university researchers, and partnerships with industry via grants and contracts drive the success of ARC.
